Three Ways To Grow Your Network Marketing Business In An Economic Crisis


Don’t hit the Panic Button just yet…

The economic news has most people not only stressing, but pretty freaked out as well. There ‘s talk about the next Great Depression, TV news gets more and more hysterical by the minute, and everywhere you look, you’ll find someone immobilized with panic because of the uncertainty of the future.

The economic crisis creates real problems, both practical and emotional, for large numbers of people. So… what’s your role? You’ve put yourself forward as an authority with your home business community, so how are you living up to that challenge?

How will you make things better instead of worse?

1. Cultivate optimism

A sudden disruption to your cash flow or having your 401K lose half its value are real and considerable problems, however the biggest problem in any kind of crisis is mindset. How does what’s happening around you affect your ability to overcome this crisis?

Panic makes things worse. It makes things worse for your team, and their panic can make things worse for the larger community. Fear is the ultimate enemy of good decisions, and panic simply makes them impossible.

Times of great problems also create great opportunities. When you look at solving problems as your key to success, you’ll start to see ways to create success in a very ethical, honorable, and profitable way. (This is a fantastic time to be a network marketer.)

Cultivate your own optimism, and share that with your prospects. They need it right now. They depend on you to show them a way to become recession proof and guide them through this dark tunnel.

2. Have patience with anxiety

I’m sorry to be the one to break this to you. Almost certainly, your prospects are about to become a major pain in the ass.

Anxious people, especially when in a panic, are difficult to be around. They don’t learn well, they’re not adaptable, and they’re obsessed with the worst possible scenario. They’re not good at seeing any point of view beyond their own distress and fear, and they become experts at raining on parades.

And nearly everybody is anxious right now.

While it would be nice to develop a virtual “get your head out of your ass” machine that can reach through the screen and pull it out for them, the fact is that your prospects need a little old-fashioned compassion right now. They’re freaked out and afraid, and that makes them a little on the uptight and guarded side…and it’s very understandable.

3. Point out options

No matter who your prospects are, there are ways they can survive and thrive in this chaos. Make it your job to look out for those ways and educate them. Research all the things your prospects can do to find new opportunities, to take advantage of unseen paths, and like Nemo, swim down while everyone else frantically swims up.

You have so much more to offer than you might realize. You’re good at thinking about things in innovative ways, and communicating that. You’re good at spotting opportunities and building momentum as an entrepreneur. You know how to use the strategies by telling stories that will inspire courage, confidence and action.

Create solutions to problems. If you’re doing an email campaign, run a series of educational, personal development, how-to emails that will lift your prospects spirits and show them their multitude of choices. If you have a stagnant downline, teach your team new ways to generate their own leads, get creative and explore new tactics. If you have a YouTube Channel, create a series of videos that educate your prospects on what Network Marketing is and why it’s the perfect timing for it. This will allow people to make thoughtful, rational decisions based on their own enlightened self-interest instead of their fear.

Present those solutions in reassuring, step-by-step formats that can be followed by people who are a little crazy with panic. Some of those solutions you’ll offer for free. If the topic is appropriate, you may ask some to pay for certain knowledge. (We all know how lucrative the information industry is). Paying for information will focus their attention, and will push your prospects into action, which benefits them as much as it does you.

At the end of the day, the question of whether or not you monetize these solutions isn’t that interesting. What matters is that you have an opportunity to step forward and make yourself a true resource for your Network Marketing community.
